I know a lot of people my age who want to cut out meat and then go completely vegan. I know there are a lot of reasons someone would want to be vegan over vegetarian but I wonder if, when the only qualm is eating meat, if they choose to be vegan over vegetarian for the aesthetic.

You gotta be careful with the wording tho, I have had friends who dont like seeming needy/complaining so if I asked "do you want to vent?" they'd be like "nevermind" and walk away

Once I saw a young little bat on the ground coming home after a long day and I was just looking at it when this guy showed up and was like "what is it?" And I said "there's a little bat there." And he goes "Huh." And went to pick it up and I was all "should you touch it?" And he goes "I used to work in a bat rehab shelter. What are the odds someone would pass by and know how to help a little bat that wasn't even hurt?

Just if you were interested, the line about women submitting to their husbands is directly followed by how men must love their wives as Christ loves the church. Aka giving of his life fully, even to death. So, it's easy to get confused out of context but the point is that husbands and wives should simultaneously serve and love each other more than they serve and love themselves. If only one or neither partner does it, it would be wrong, maybe even dangerous. (In the Catholic Bible, not sure about other versions)
