Not all information has objective truth. But what do I know? I'm just a guest. :)

I've said my piece. You can continue to stubbornly shove your fingers in your ears and sing "sooouuuuurrrcccesss" all you like, insisting that every interaction must be held to the highest academic standards. It's only a fallacy if you're trying to generalize off of one experience.

The posters are talking about different things. OP is talking about people asking for proof of lived experience. The replies are talking about more abstract and theoretical discussions or academic work. Despite what high school teaches, you don't, in fact, need a citation for absolutely everything. Even in post secondary institutions there are assignments that don't need citations. Why? Because they're about your personal, lived experiences.
