His name is Meeko and I too had some trouble with keeping him alive. I even had to use the resurrect command a few times because I forgot to save when I had played for like 2 hours without saving and didn't want to repeat everything. My stupid daughter also didn't want to adopt him and got herself a fox so I had to find a son just for Meeko to be able to stay at my home. Worth i lt though, he's a good boy.
