Laksh--who is offended. It looks to me like the commentary is that an Arab is being super generous with his credit card towards the charity.

That's what we used to say when we promoted "equality." Same thing with race. Then people questioned why there were scholarships and opportunities for women and People of Color when there were no similar ones for men or whites if "equality" was the real goal. That didn't fit with "equality," so we advanced to "social justice."
Now, gender and race are the most important things so that we can atone for years when there was slavery and women couldn't vote, etc. of course, the people benefiting from or being harmed by social justice programs aren't the same ones that owned slaves or prevented women from voting, but hey--that's why identity matters. You represent the ones who need to pay or who need to be paid for past injustices.

Your hyperbolic example doesn't disprove the fact that many of the happiest most free countries in the world also have some of the strictest gun control and extremely low murder rates.
Switzerland has more guns per-capita than the US yet has one of the lowest gun violence rates in the world and very restrictive gun control laws. Culture is partially to do with that, but their gun control laws are baked into their culture now. If owning a gun in the US meant you had to go through the same training and licensing the Swiss do to own guns than we would have a lot less problems.

Tony's father didn't really make Captain America. His machine just sped up the growth that would of happened from the super soldier drug the German doctor made. So Howard didn't make cap as much as he just sped up his timeline a little.

Yeah consent can be withdrawn at any time by any party, so your idea is just bad.

Honestly though a plate of lean fried ham with bread contains as many calories as a bowl of cereal. I've made my choice!

I’m against this only cause it was strongly miss used in my case. Any little incident led to a “spanking” which in most cases involved a thick wooden stick, multiple times with the metal end of the belt, or sometimes with a spatula, in cases of being somewhere other than home. I definitely don’t plan on using this technique on my children as a punishment reinforcement.

Am I the only one reading this who was never spanked? I just got grounded for a long time if it was really bad. My brother was grounded for 6mo for wandering off and breaking a few major rules in the process. If you feel like spanking is the only way you can teach your kid fine, don't overdo it and use your hand so you understand how hard you're hitting. But it's not a requirement to discipline a kid.
The same with big weddings 18 comments

It’s materialistic, okay, and maybe boring, but my wedding set makes me happy. I like to look at it, and other people also notice it sometimes. Being married makes me happy. Have a pretty ring set is nice. I guess it doesn’t matter, and I’m sure it wouldn’t shine to me if it wasn’t a good relationship, but I never take it off and I will wear it my whole life. What other thing will stay with me so long? Is okay to throw some cash. Is unique possession.
It was within our budget, but friends whose fiancé went a bit above what was strictly prudent say the same as me. It is a quiet but consistent reminder of the joy and goodness in my life. It is always there, even more than a cell phone. For me, it is not wasteful. Houses will come, cars will come; many things come to those who hustle. But a small token, worn next to the skin, yes, spend whatever seems reasonable for this momento.
