Unless there was a civil war within the last 300 years that none of us knew about or you just had a large number of people with German friends, that doesn't seem right.
Both my grandad and great grander served in the wars, and they sure as hell knew of no Germans in heir community, and even then, there is NO WAY IN HELL, they'd go back to being best friends again, that is total bollocks.
After each war they had a searing hatred for the Jerry's, and even my Dad has a hatred and distrust for them after what my grandad told him. That's why even now, there's a whole generation of people that still can't trust the germans., The same way my dad still hates the Irish because of the IRA.
I'm not sure whether fighting stopped on Christmas, it's more of a myth now, here have been some shady reports.
