Hasn't been announced yet so I'm guessing mid to late 2022. For now I'll just be watching the new season of What We Do in the Shadows haha.

Alan Tudyk on: playing a rooster on a boat like hamlet 13 comments

Yeah that's definitely true, although it's probably less of a fault of the genre itself and more of like... idk, asshole literature teachers? My HS teacher had us look for hidden meanings in fucking everything so I understand the frustration. But you're right it's definitely a space which can be and often is infiltrated by pretentious pricks, so finding poetry that is actually deep and not "deep" is like finding a needle in a pile of shit-stained hay.

Oh damn, that IS haunting as hell.
Just curious, why do you hate poetry? I'm personally indifferent to it, there's good poetry and bad/cringy poetry and in general I definitely prefer prose, but I've never heard anyone say they *hate* the whole genre.
Edit: oh btw speaking of haunting poetry, one book of poetry I've always liked was Kytice (translated into English as A Bouquet of Folk Tales) by Karel Jaromír Erben. They're short horror stories written in poem form and most of them are really haunting. The book came out in 1853 and it's since become a staple of Czech literature. I honestly don't know if the English translation holds up but you can probably DL it on LibGen so I recommend checking it out.

Big oof;
If this was written by someone who's been reporting out of an active warzone or something, I'd understand and perhaps even sympathize a little bit; I mean that person would still mostly be nowhere near the danger soldiers are in on the daily, but it's still pretty dangerous compared to most of our cushy Western lives;
But it's not that, it's fucking CNN; That guy, gal or nonbinary pal who wrote this probably thinks they're attacked when someone sends them a mean tweet;
(PS sorry for the semicolons, the website kept insisting there's a link in the comment so I had to edit it like that)

Well, the song (September by Earth, Wind & Fire) came out in 1978, so perhaps. I only found out about it from the French film Intouchables, otherwise I'd have no idea either.

Yeah it's been proven they fuck up your knees, hips and spine if you wear them every day, because of how your weight is shifted to the front and the different pattern of walking.
Like sure sometimes I wear them to some formal events (but mostly I just wear flats because I'm 5'10") but I'm really sorry for the women who think (or are told) that they have to wear them every day to work to look 'professional' or whatever.
That said, the same thing can definitely be said about men who have to wear suits to work even when it's scorching hot. Dehydration is already a serious thing that affects many people each year and when you sweat profusely for 8+ hours every day because you can't take off any layers, it's a recipe for disaster.

Ahaha I wish! Tbh I'm just happy the work culture has improved and employers don't force women to wear makeup and high heels to the office anymore, cause I hate both of those things.

Oh heck yeah. Epaulets, capes and kilts should totally be acceptable to wear outside.

Dudes of funsubstance, if it was socially acceptable for you to wear skirts, dresses, and other stuff that's considered women's clothing nowadays, would you? I'm genuinely curious because I find contemporary men's fashion to be boring and stifling as hell, the most creative thing you can do with it is to wear a suit with a funny tie, but most of the time you're stuck with jeans and T-shirts. If you could go ham with skirts, dresses, makeup, or different types of shoes without people being weird about it, what would you do?

I'm not from the US so I know almost none of those names, but that sounds like a really cool place to live. Except for Beth I guess. I googled her and she has them crazy eyes, lol.
I don't really live near anyone famous but my MMA coach likes to take us outside to run up this long flight of stairs Rocky style, in what is apparently an area where a lot of famous folks live (which you wouldn't guess by passing through, it's a slightly above average looking neighborhood really), and the frontman of a band that used to be huge in like the 90s-00s likes to watch us from his balcony. I've seen some other famous people in the area too but it's so weird seeing them irl because they don't look like they do on TV, so I kinda have to do a double take to confirm it's really them but also not stare too much because I don't want to look like a creep.

Yeah, property tax and property value can be real random sometimes. If you're lucky enough to have a store or school or whatever built near where you live, suddenly your property value goes up even if the house itself is a dilapidated hellhole that hasn't been remodeled in 50 years. And what do you a call a person that doesn't bother remodeling a falling apart property but banks on it being in a good location? A landlord! (Just kidding...but really only half-kidding. In my country the housing situation sucks and landlords are sucking the lifeblood out of everyone)

I'm surprised there isn't a religion worshipping them. Or if there is, sign me up!

Having a house built isn't the most expensive thing, especially if you're willing to put some work into it yourself and maybe at first furnish it sparingly/with recycled materials. But getting a piece of land to put it on that isn't in the middle of nowhere and doesn't cost an arm and a leg is the issue, at least here in Europe. I've been looking into the Tiny house movement lately and it's pretty great but you still need to shill out tons of cash just to be able to park it somewhere.

Tbh it is pretty interesting how women's periods will sync up when they live together. I mean it's nothing mystical, just good old hormones, but still.
And then again men have been making a morning wood boner wave around the world for centuries so that's pretty interesting too. And it sounds more connected to the ocean than wombs. Cause y'know, it's a wave.
