You're calling me a parody? Listen to yourself! Men and women of all walks of life choose to stand together in defense of our nation and her interests, and you compare us to rapists?
There is no moral child rapists, but we are not criminals that go and victimize innocents to satisfy our own base urges, that's the exact opposite of what we are.
We kill those animals, not emulate them.

The U.S. military is indisputably the most moral military of it's caliber in the history of the world.
We are an all volunteer force with no obligation to accept anyone we feel would hinder our combat effectiveness or our peacetime efficiency.
Nobody's rights are stripped away, we agree to give them up for the duration of our contract in exchange for the privilege of serving and a lifetime's worth of hard-earned benefits.
You seem to be willfully ignorant of how we function.
@bethorien "Go to war or go to jail" is a thing of the past. It's very difficult for criminals to apply, no reason to press them into service when we have plenty of volunteers

All I'm saying is that colonels know war better than lawyers or politicians.
They are sending us to war, let us win.

Let commanders on the ground determine objectives and ROE.

The fewer soft targets the better.

Agreed. However, those places should be carefully considered, rather than banning weapons everywhere outright.
But you are arguing extremes, and I very much prefer every law-abiding citizen everywhere being armed always, as opposed to the opposite.

Better than the alternatives.
Like I said, I very much prefer taking risks with good people, than hoping a bad person feels merciful.
After all, the current policies aren't doing much to keep those venues safe as it is.

I'm a medic, sidearms will be my bread and butter when I'm not saving lives.
18 is the police average, private citizens on average do better.
The "wild" west was actually a pretty terrible time to be a criminal, most wannabes who were stupid enough to try learned pretty quick that picking fights is fucking stupid when everyone has at least a six-gun.

There's so much bullshit in your comments I can't even start to sort it out.
I hope you know as little about voting as you do the subject matter of this thread.

Basic doesn't cover sidearms.
Basic is not the end of training.

I'd rather see you in court than in a casket, but ideally you'll thank me or us for helping and go home thankful to be alive.

Hell yeah I would.
Better to risk a good person making a mistake than to hope a bad one feels merciful.
And I was just as good of a shot then, only difference is that I know a bit more about buddy team maneuvers.
