I think they do some trick with other mirrors reflecting the character in the mirror. I know I read something about this somewhere and I can't remember
If you turn the mirror a little it looks like you look at it dead on but what the camera man sees is the person reflection and the person sees the camera. The Person and Camera man have to be side by side. It is a old mirror trick.
