No no sweetheart. Try being AUSTRIAN. Hitler was Austrian and the amount of crap my people get from it is overwhelming. On top of that I'm also Italian. Italy sided with Germany. I get double trouble, and you wouldn't think that - because it's 2014 and time has passed - but, no we still get criticized for the things we didn't do. Oh, and my great uncle was a Nazi...yeah...great. So proud -_-
Besides all that, I am pleased to see such a lovely picture. Not everyone is evil I suppose...

You have an amazing heritage! Even though your ancestors didn't do the greatest things perhaps, they don't define you. And don't bother with all that crap people give you.

I think the caption is probably wrong: 1 The uniform doesn't look East German 2 Why should it be illegal to let somebody into East Germany? I conclude: The picture shows a Western Soldier helping a child escape from the DDR
