Swarms like this generally happen when Monarch Butterflies migrate down south for winter.

This would have been a nice post, if not for the asshat who originally thought text would be a good thing to place on top of the picture.
In any case, this reminds me of Gilroy Gardens and Six Flag Marine World or w/e it's called these days.
