And other times the series is ending so some characters die in fights as part of the ending story.

Or they just die because it's a part of the plot, even though the series will still continue. Example: GoT.

Is there REALLY any show besides Game of Thrones which fits that example?

Well, I mean in Supernatural people die constantly. They sometimes come back, but that's a different thing. Also Doctor Who, but that's usually minor characters who die. And I've never watched any medieval series , but I guess it'd happen in those too.
