my concern is that we will get with that method also a big pile of bycatch but with some research that problem could be solved

his method only sweeps the surface of the water, not too deep, my concern is that the seas can get rough with up to 10 story waves

at least it's smth. and smth is a looot more better than nothing
maybe in the next 10 years or so we will be able to clean the oceans completely, but till then this is GOLD

People throw it in because they were already too lazy to just keep it with them. Most of the time, they have little or no need to justify their own actions, simply because they just don't care. It's better that we're cleaning it up at all, rather than it just sitting there accumulating.

It sweeps the surface only. There are few animals that stay up so far.
