Oof. I don't even have dreads, but my hair is super curly. I wear it in ways that some consider to be "ethnic" at times and I've been yelled at more than once for doing so. (I go to school in the Northeast right next to an art school though, so no surprise there.) Pls tho. I just don't want it in my face.
The thing with the hair is that black women were mocked and made fun of for wearing their hair that way. They were told they couldn't do traditional hair styles and to use "normal" hair. All of a sudden white women start wearing traditional black women hair and calling it a "new" fashion.
It's not called a " new fashion " it's just a thing that's trending due to more popularity
And hardly any of the women doing the hairstyles were the ones mocked and made fun of, otherwise they wouldn't be doing tbem, so it isn't fair that they're told no to HAIRSTYLES just because of other people
