I realize I may be wrong here, but is verbal abuse really verbal abuse if you don't care? It's different than physical abuse because regardless of whether you care to get hit, you're still getting hot whereas it's not too hard to let words and attitudes roll off you.

There are degrees of obsession and different ways of showing it. normal ppl just obsessed over making their partner happy or secure. That's clearly not what's going on here. It's not normal or healthy for the relationship.

It is totally mentally and emotionally abusive. Maybe he has cheated in the past and now she is so screwed up about it she is becoming an abuser. Regardless it's not right.
