I don't think so. I tried with 399 because I was too lazy to get my ass up and take a calculator, but with this number it seems to work with 240 and 600. (With my usual technique, 399^2=400^2-(400+399)=160 000-799=159 201. Then I figured that 399-240=159 ; 600-399=201. Now if we take another number, 800 squared = 640 000, 800-240=560, and uh 600-800 does not turn well but let's consider 600-800 and it's still wrong.)
Maybe I made mistakes though, I just woke up and was not prepared for that x)
