So I grew up with only women.. I developed a habit of putting both the seat and lid down as sort of a rebellious action against the "I fell in argument." So I think I'm just weird to everybody now. Idk, I'd be glad to put the seat however she wanted.
Closing the lid is just basic hygiene so not to spray aerisolized urine and fecal matter over the entire bathroom, most significantly on any uncapped toothbrushes.
It's faster. And honestly, sitting to pee makes it a whole thing. I don't know how to explain it, but it's the same difference as going through the drive through, or parking your car, going inside and ordering take away.
When you sit down, you have to take off your pants, sit down, sometimes the seat is cold, then wipe, get dressed again. When you pee standing up, it's like a driveby. The time difference is abysmall, but the whole experience changes. 10/10 would pee standing up again.
