Apparently there is a movement to remove the word Actress and have all be called Actors.
Which is supposed to be so that Female star can be seen as the same as a Male star.
I personally don't see how calling all stars Actors could be a big difference but I dont work in the business.
I always saw it as actor is Male and actress is Female.

Look it isn't just actor and actress changing. They are changing alot of Male female names of the same job to all be called one word.
No more waiter and waitress they are all waiters.
No more steward and stewardess they are both steward now.
It is the 21st century and the world is becoming a more gender neutral place.
Why do you associate "gender neutral" and "equal rights"? I don't want neutral world. Real equality: respect to others differences, but not trying to make all same and neutral.

I believe in saying one is Male and one is female. I believe changing a name with not change the roll. A rose by any other name will smell as sweet.
So calling an actress an a for or a waitress a waiter will not change the their job.
I believe we should treat each other as we would want to be treated. By our abilities not what is in our pants and/or under our skirt. I think there should be shelters for single fathers and sports that are not just men or woman but have teams that mix as well. We shouldn't live in a world that we are either man or woman we should live in a world where we are either strong or weak, smart or dumb. And be treated and place according to our abilities alone.
