I grew up in a family of 6 kids and I can tell you yeah it had bad times but the good out weighed the bad.
I never was lonely.
Because my parents had so many kids they knew how to let kids be kids.
The chores was small because so many of us to do them left little for each of us to do.
Yeah we didn't get every little thing we wanted but it made those times we did even more special.
And yeah we didn't have college tuition lol most my brothers are idiots anyways. Only me and one other went to college.
We earned our own cars.
We paid our own phone bills.
Nothing was handed to us we worked for it.
Both my parents worked and my grandmother who lived with us. Than when she retired she took care wife the house. While we helped.
And once you are part of the 6 kids it doesn't seen as big of a family.
Honestly kids are like cats. Lol
1 or 2 easy to care for.
3 or 4 you start to think you had to many
5 and up you think it is a bit more expensive to care for them but alot easier somehow.
Oldest of 8 (all from the same parents) Your cat analogy is good. My parents learned you should pay for what kids need, but maybe not everything they want. I ended up being the parent while mine worked overseas or two jobs. My parents are the reason people should be pre-approved to have children. All of us have some form of trauma, and an incredibly dark sense of humor to show for it.
I'm glad some people turn out fine, but most large families don't.
Either way, we're all fucked up now and our parents wonder why we don't want to come home for Christmas.
Theres only myself(20) and younger) brother(18), and our parents have always expected me to work for things.. and he got things when he asked for them. :(
6 cars at 16? I don't think so. They want a car they can get a job and work for it. Plenty of used cars out there that work that are within a highschoolers possible budget. College tuition? We'll talk on a case by case basis but it won't be a free ride.
