It’s funny how you have debates in theory and then a situation arises where you have concrete personal experience that puts into perspective just how wrong someone is. I happen to have lived in Virginia for a few decades so I can tell you that in addition to the cognitive dissonance you experienced that made you deflect to counties, you really missed the mark when it comes to truth. Gun control is a huge issue with VA voters. The fact that the VA congress flipped from red to blue majority is, in no small part, due to the desire for stricter gun laws. Even if the number of counties vote Republican, most counties in the commonwealth have a low population with counties like Fairfax and Henrico holding a majority of the people. VA is trending democrat; we didn’t go with Trump last time and it’s even less likely he will win the state next time. At a state level the prosperity of VA is to the credit of the Democratic Party.

But you are switching the discussion. Trump said that if the Dems control VA then the prosperity will disappear. Dude in the post pointed out that the Dems brought the prosperity. You said the counties are Republican, implying that they are somehow the real source of prosperity and warning that gun control legislation will create more Republican voters. I explained why that theory is incorrect.

Not particularly a threat and in addition no one is going to take McEachin any more seriously now than we did when he was standing on the wing of a badly computer generated airplane on his commercials for helping you get a big settlement for your personal injury case.
Who is backing him up? No one I know of has, nor has he ever followed up that statement in which he was making a speculation, not a recommendation with anything indicating it was something beyond a passing remark.
