I'm so glad I was born in 2000

My husband is left handed. When my dad found out he said you should count yourself lucky when I was in school kids left arms were pinned to their side if they showed they preferred to use that hand so they be forced to use the right.

My sister had her left hand held in her back to force her to use her right hand. This was in a small rural school in the 80s. She's still a leftie today and only told us about 10 years ago when she realized this wasn't supposed to happen.
