On that note, how's the husband a coward AND abusive?

I mean apparently he knew his mother was poisoning his wife and said nothing.

I've seen this one before.
Apparently the mother in law hated OP so much she was "poisoning" her, (giving her stomach trouble) as well as a bunch of other things to make her life miserable, and she could never truly prove it was the mother and the husband did not believe her. When she thinks she's finally proved it, the husband still doesn't believe her.
