What is nice is even though I'm lvl 77 Dragoon (less than 30k exp, or 1/3rd a random quest til 78) and I'v already bought all my lvl 80 equipment. It's the best gear money can buy, as the only thing better literally takes me beating the entire game and grinding Eden on Savage mode... only for a VERY incremental boost if that; as even though the gear I bought is item level 480, the item level 500 armor only has two materia slots instead of five. All I need to do is get to the Eden Savage and stockpile rewards until the last part of patch 5 drops, at which point there will be a level 80 version of that item level 500 armor that has 5 materia slots.
I'm halfway through Stormblood so that and catching up with Shadowbringers is all I need; I could actually do that in less than a day if I tried, but I won't, as the sheer volume of items I'll obtain cannot be sold fast enough and I'm still waiting on a small house going up for auction.... although that house thing can be solved if they add more districts in the patch.
I've put myself in a situation where I literally cannot lose as my crafting jobs are also closing in on 80... I can only do so much per day before the expenses escalate, but by slowing down it's all almost timed perfectly; Culinary is already at 80... and Alchemist is right behind on the eve of 79.
I also switched all my retainers (these are... well... they hold items for you and also sell your items but you can also send them on quests) from 18 hr quests for exp towards 50 min quests for items; so I'm now hitting stacks of 500 on items I need sold; I just don't have the fucking space. It's a terribly benevolent joke.
