2nd oldest brother was 17 and felt mighty hungry at 4am.
Now my siblings and I were raised to cook our own breakfast and lunch. Dinner was the only meal made for us.
My brother at 4am decided that he was hungry and only food that could feed his hunger was homemade fries.
Small problem was he let the potato soak in the water to long as he waited for the grease to get hot and he didn’t dry them before ploping them and some water into the hot grease. Causing a huge flame that caught our cabinets above it on fire.
Now most think quick remove from heat and use salt or baking soda to put out the grease fire. But my brother bless his heart grabbed a cup of water. Resulting in a bigger splash and bigger flames.
So what does he do?
Wake everyone to get help?
NOPE!
Call 911?
NOPE!
He calmly walks to my parents bedroom and kneels down by my Dad and gently wakes him and asks.
“Hay Dad where is the fire extinguisher?”
My poor half asleep Dad says “Under the kitchen sink.”
My brother says “Ok thanks.”
Than heads back to the kitchen.
My Mom asks “What did he want?”
My Dad said “He wanted to know where the fire extinguisher was.”
That is when it clicked and he jumped out of bed saying “FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!!”
He than ran to the smoke filled kitchen and saved the kitchen by grabbing the extinguisher from my brother and putting the fire out.
Lol It pays to have a fireman Dad lol

Meanwhile my mom yelled at me when I was 19 because we were on the phone and I casually mentioned I was making a quick beaten egg in the microwave. It escalated super quick to "you're not supposed to put eggs in a microwave! What if it explodes! You're going to burn down the whole building!!" and after I hung up she called my big sister to yell at her because she was letting me do stupid shit.
