When I see the tag says 19.99 I automatically think ok that is 22.00 because I was raised always add .10 cents for every dollar for taxes. Even though taxes isn’t .10 cents it’s just easier to do .10 cents.

I mean, they wouldn't do it if it didn't work.

There’s been quite a bit of study on this, and it’s true. Some companies reported up to a 30% increase in sales with that one cent difference.

It does work. People see the first figure, and not the .99 extra cents, so their brain convinces them, that it's cheaper.
