We are in debt because we are following the socialistic ways of the uk and canada. I am not saying we aren't bad cause we are and we have fools running this country but how did we get here? Because we follow canada and English ways. I have many friends in both the Uk and Canada you can't even imagine how bad it is over there. Plus last time I checked uk nor canada have millions of immigrants coming over to there country.

They also give massive tax breaks to profit making churches. Why not spend more money on stuff people actually want, like staying alive. You could safely halve the military and still feel protected. So much so that they won't even contemplate having some of their tax dollars spent on healthcare. I highly doubt you have friends in Canada or the UK as you clearly don't know much about either systems. My mother-in-law broke her arm two weeks ago. She had a cast in less than a half hour and gets a new one every two weeks for free. How much would that cost you?

I have plenty of friends in both canada and uk because unlike you I got a college education, have a job, and travel all where I meet people from different countries. They have no immigrants compared to what we have.

Also, I don't know what friends you're talking about in Canada, but I was born and raised and still reside in Canada and I must say, it's pretty fucking sweet up here. If healthcare is free, then we take a huge step towards communism, and a huge step away from America. So no, healthcare should not be free, and the government should stay out of our personal loves, thank you.
Apon seeing this post I was actually very surprised at how many negative comments have been made. I am from Canada myself and must say I thouroughly enjoy our free healthcare, however I don't think that means I should shove it down everyones throats that my country is better for this, because it's not. There are pros and cons to either situation, for Canadians higher taxes, and for Americans expensive healthcare. If per say you where to live a healthy life only having minor health issues, the Canadians will have payed in their taxes for other peoples healthcare where the Americans will have never had to worry much about it. Now flip that situation around, say you have become very ill and need medical attention the Canadian will not have to worry too much whereas the American could possibly (depending on their financial situation) find themselves in a lot of debt. It is the person who's in charge decision for whats best for their country. Just my opinion, sorry if you disagree:)
There is NO SUCH THING as free healthcare. It's paid for by taxes. But I dont want my taxes to pay for someone else's health. I mean our taxes pay for our crispy public school system and look how well that turned out
