Nobody ever has a right to be looked at in a given way by other people; that impinges on their rights. She has the right to decline, I said so myself. How she's seen is up to other people.
I think she's a lady for what she did, you can disagree and that's fine.

She may still reject him in relationship matters, but this was an invitation to a dance, not a good hard bedroom fucking. He developed a crush on a girl with a good heart (just look at her) and his good judgement was rewarded. If she refused (and she has every right to), then fine, but a lady would at least accept a harmless gesture like taking him to a school dance since he asked so gentlemanly (I think doing otherwise proves she's vain and selfish, more concerned with her reputation than other people's feelings). There doesn't look to be a single thing scummy about the guy (he actually looks slightly retarded), so it's not like he's a fedora trying to corner her into something she doesn't want.
I'll be honest, if I did something like that, I'd probably be rejected and rightly so; I'd have asked her out (not to a school dance though) because she's hot and not a bitch, he asked her out because she's a kind person.
I could be wrong in my suspicions about all that, of course.
