Microsoft had no issue with Notch up until he went on Twitter and started getting political and he spilled some slight racy comments. Of course Microsoft enjoyed the fact he continued to get involved with the game for a few more years however they did not want him to leave a bad name to the game. They even removed a few references from the menu. He never fought back and it looks like he understood, like both knew it was best to part ways.
