The aliens are ghosting us 1 comments

I still like the theory that we are the orcs of the galaxy. In all honesty anyone could try to bring us into their fold and offer us everything. The cures to all illness and the ability to heal the infirmed, longevity, increased vitality, speed, strength and intelligence and a corner of the shared universe to call our own. It would never be enough. We would totally play favorites and wage war and conquest on all we don't like. Mother Nature has raised her children to know thus-all must run as fast as they can to stay in the same place.

A friendly reminder for all non american who love to laugh at American public education, its all about graduation rates and trying to sell dumb 18 year olds into 20-100k of college debt. You can be a millionaire highschool dropout if you know how to network and be productive while people who get their dipolma or even a bachelors degree can be both dumb and useless. The American public education system needs to be completely rehauled or left to rot

Should have never supplied the USSR, should have helped Poland, should have hunted down the war criminals that fled to Argentina, lot of 'should haves' in that war

Most people won't mind a gay person in their dragon slaying game but is that person interesting and multilayered or was this character thrown in for check box diversity quotas? It depends on what game we are referring to as I have no idea

The main problem I see here is that video games and escapism media in general should just stay as thus. People play video games to escape everyday life and everyday problems, so if I feel like slaying dragons, I will slay me some dragons

What were the ages if these losers? most teenagers I knew around this time would hang out at bowling alleys after school because they could buy alcohol and cigarettes without being carded.

I am libertarian in that I hate the feds. Not local government, if I think my state handles gun control or the corona virus poorly, I shall happily pack up and move to a more like minded state.

Each state could basically be its own nation, but fuck dealing with your local problems at the local level and leaving everyone else to figure shit out as they see fit...

Now here is one thing I fail to understand, we can give the cute bees all of the love and care in the world but we can also declare war on ever inconvenient wasp and hornets nest and they will ALWAYS endure

I fail to understand, you use the term 'this seasoning' as if you are showcasing one specific seasoning instead of a whole shelf of seasoning. If anything it starts to make less sense considering Europe brought the entire world to their level, kicking and screaming, due to the spice trade

This is why we vaccinate our children 15 comments

Hm, so follow up question @roanoke in a seriousness and all respect. Let us say that there is a nation with an obesity problem. Heart problems and type 2 diebetes is on the rise, OK? So the government defines your children as clinically obese, so can they make you feed your children government approved rations at gunpoint or alternatively take away your children if you don't comply? This logic seems to have a limit so I'm curious what you think it is?

Oh I agree, let there be no mistake that I personally am pro vaccine.
I should elaborate from my first comment that both a government and a child's parents can be wrong and make for decisions that fuck up children. Neither are perfect. I guess I believe the parents USUALLY know what's best for their own children, better than any government. But not always. I am merely stating why I would be against goverment enforced vaccines the same way I'm against the death penalty or hate speech laws. Should you give up any of your rights if the circumstances are right? Maybe but you do so at great risk
