I always make tree houses. Monster proof, and with a view. I go to the top and dig a cave I to the laces and slowly turn it into wood and I have a ladder and I put. Trap door at the top of the ladder. Then I put a fence around it so that stuff can't get in that way. Then I dig a big hole in the ground and make an animal trap(this is like where they fall in and can't get out because the walls are too high). Then I can have livestock and stuff and catch food. Also, I always build me house close to a giant cave for mining, were I can just walk in ms get what I need. Also, in a mine you should always have a bucket of water because if there is a huge drop, you can put the water down and it acts like an elevator.
