I agree you'd be resetting your problem solving capabilities but it wouldn't be as impaired as you think. It would depend entirely on the person. Now you would still be effected by hormones as you grow. So things like your temper, if it was a problem when you were a child, would still be an issue but you would I assume also have developed more coping mechanisms. If you have ADD or ADHD you'd be able to recognize what's going on. You may not be able to just solve all your childhood troubles but you would be now in a position to get help, describe the help you need, and for what, that you originally couldn't have. Now physically your brain would have to have all the pathways your adult brain has in the order it has for your memories to exist. I imagine you'll lose many fine details as you grow as new pathways form just like you would presumably have lost of your childhood. To give example if something happened when you were 15 and you're 30 now and you go back to 6 that means it will be/

Red, I'd be able to make way more than 10 mil. just in investments. I'd also take advantage of my renewed elasticity in my brain to learn other languages faster.

Yep, not sure what the Beatitudes have to do with coffee since: "The Beatitudes are eight blessings recounted by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatitudes

I get what they're saying but it's really backwards. The problem is US and the solution is ME. No ones going to work with others to fix anything if not even willing to change themselves first. Also this is a repost.

The book was better than the movie, but the movie was done really well too.

So I once read an example of the violence they have. It had to do with cultural differences and mental attitudes. The premise explained why successful soccer players had to have body guards. So soccer is a really big deal there and successful players get all the money and attention etc... Well apparently it's really difficult to first have the natural talent and also put in all the work and practice to get good. Who would have thought? Right? So instead in order to make yourself look better is easier to just remove those that stand out. As a consequence it's not all that rare for other less successful players to arrange "accidents" or straight up murder for the good players.

Not that it really matters to me. I prefer almost green bananas with only slight yellowing. Won't even buy them if they're completely yellow.

A Velociraptor skull compared to a T-Rex tooth 6 comments

That's because a real velociraptor was the size of a turkey. It's head would have reached from the knee to mid thigh for an average adult human and only .5 meters or 1.6 feet at the hip. Here's a size comparison for various raptors next to a human. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dromaeosaurs.png The Utahraptor is the one closest in size to the Jurassic movies.

It's typically considered that day represents the normal period of time a day lasts, so about 24hrs. There are arguments for different amounts of time but with no reason to suspect that day means something completely different than when it's used in other similar parts of the bible it seems the best definition. To answer the original question there was still a lit portion of time and an unlit portion of time. Hence a day. This would be the first linear example of "time" that we all use today. So solar system not required. Of course if you have the ability to create everything from nothing and at the same time create all the laws that govern our universe I'm sure you'd also have no trouble creating a tiny little solar system that mimics the time scale you already established.

I don't know. $116 for electricity in a state where you run your a/c 24/7 on top of other appliances is not that far off if at all. Really that's just $546 dollars a month for the room so right near your $500 and she's not charging for water so I think is completely reasonable.

Time is a fickle thing 4 comments

Which is all fine and dandy but the brain doesn't work that way. Neurons link in pattern groups in order to make memories these are then connected to other groups in certain patterns and so on and so on. Now this all means that while what upset you may have taken 10 seconds your brain may route your memory pathways into connections with other memories in numerous ways. This all means your brain will make you dwell on it and experience/re-experience it for far longer than the original 10 seconds.

Now I like Samuel Clemens. He was a great man and an amazing writer but this is a self defeating opinion. By this argument evil can only exist if you have morals since it's choosing what is morally wrong that is evil. However this also means if you don't have morals you can't be evil because you can't choose to what is wrong because there is no wrong without morals.

Not gonna touch on the illogical comparison but I will say having been in the Army and been in charge of privates whose average age was 19 I can confirm they can be really really stupid and irresponsible. They can be every bit as bad as toddlers only they can drunk (some of them), and can get into way more things.

I had a toy pistol that used these and it would auto advance the roll, coming out of the handle, every time the chambers turned. It used to misfire about one out of every 7 or 8 so I used to take the "spent" portion an hit it with a hammer to pop them.

Why not get higher on the rock 10 comments
lucky11 · 4 years ago
This, while funny, is not true. While the Earth has rocks and is partly made up partly of rocks it is not a rock. A rock by definition is a solid mineral deposit and must be part of the earth's surface. This means that any rock you stand on is part of the Earth, but the Earth itself is not one solid formation so it is not in fact a rock.

Merging onto a highway 13 comments
lucky11 · 4 years ago
Also if you are in a lane where another merges into it please maintain your speed. If you slow down or speed up you'll only make the person who is attempting to merge have a harder time. If you are in a merging lane please realize the oncoming traffic has the right away and doesn't have to break for you, you have to break for them so approach accordingly. Don't be that guy that tries to force themselves into a car and then gets mad when they don't slow down so you can get in front of them. You're the idiot who doesn't know how to merge at that point and it is a ticketable offense should you "force" them to move over or slam on the breaks for you.

Who do we owe money to?!? The Decepticons!?! 3 comments
lucky11 · 4 years ago
Stupid math lesson time. If I owe you $5 dollars and you owe another person $5 dollars even if we have the money to pay back everything we're still $10 dollars in total debt. Slightly more complicated. If I owe you $10 dollars but you owe me $25 dollars the total debt is $35 dollars even though when you pay me back you would only need to give me $15 dollars. This is how they figure the math for this news.
