i’m all for bail reform, for NONviolent crimes that are of no apparent threat to life and safety but there isn’t a single offense on this list that fits that description. what the hell is the rationale behind this?

i’m confused…?

i honestly thought caucasians would be a bigger demographic. and i AM caucasian. like, that’s pretty much the opposite of what i would have imagined. weird.

am personally very select in my choices for anime for this very reason.

i know this is going to sound like bullshit but something similar happened to me when i was 10. invited the whole class to the local arcade/jungle gym/fun place thing, and two kids showed up and each brought the same gift (bionicles, different ones, so i wasn’t even mad about that). after that i didn’t want birthday parties. truth was i never really cared much about the rest of the class, and it was softened by the two kids that did come, who were my best friends at that point, but i was heartbroken. i’ve kept it small since, and it’s been almost 20 years.

i hate when people make it about race… and i hate pandering. i hate when good storytelling and plot are pushed in favor of a message or hot-button topic. and a lot of times, especially with reboots, it seems, or sequels to already popular series and sagas (i.e. the work of kathleen kennedy, as an example), that’s what you get. 2012-2019 it was especially popular to see that trend, and you still have it in series like Young Justice (longtime fan, still love the show, but the story… well, it sucks. it drones on and on with side plots and characters that are two-dimensional without a real story or any growth, who seem to be more a vehicle to check a box for representation rather than to forward the story), and characters like Catherine Fox in Greys Anatomy (don't even get me started). it isn’t racist to feel this way. but that having been said, A LOT of racists have used these argument as vehicles for their bigotry, and it makes it uncomfortable for those who legitimately want better-

i wouldn’t even really care that they did this if the character and the series were supposed to be silly, or if the source material was ridiculous to begin with. but She-Hulk was a respected member of the MCU with a complex origin and the show is supposed to not only be taken seriously but, i guess, be a pinnacle of feminist empowerment. this feels degrading to the character in what is already a show that is on thin ice with many longtime MCU fans, and doesn’t present itself as anything ANYONE should take to heart. it makes it feel cheap, and that is so disappointing because there is SO much they could have done for this character. and now, one of the most common responses i’ve found on YouTube to this is guys saying that NOW they’re fans, and asking who’s more thicc, MTS or She Hulk. like, c’mon. what did the writers honestly expect?
