Honestly the thing I hated the most about Rey was that they spent the entirety of ep 8 establishing that she's not special, her heritage is completely irrelevant and what she's done / will do is what matters and I quite liked that. And then they had to go like "wait no, ignore that entire hour of movie, she's a palpatine". Seriously, why even bother with the last jedi at that point.
