This question and statement lead directly to a discussion of existentialism.

Is mankind the goal or the obstacle? Personally I think we're the goal.

Wait, shouldn't feminists be happy Victoria's Secret is rejecting trans women? Wouldn't accepting them exclusively mean that men are becoming better at being women models than women are?

This world is confusing.

...they will leave and the whole thing falls apart. Greed may start a company, but it can only survive if it's equitable for all.

You misunderstood. I know there are a ton of liberal billionaires. I'm sure definitions vary, but i dont believe liberals and SJWs are the same. I do think every rich Democrat is a walking hypocrisy though. They want open boarders for the country but live in fenced communities. "Anti Gun" but employ armed guards. The entire Democratic system is completely reliant on a permanent poor class of government dependent poor people, but thats a whole other topic.
.
@pripyatplatypus, i don't disagree that businesses exist to make money, why else would anyone take the risk. I wholly disagree though that it's at the expense of everything else. Businesses can really only survive and thrive if they enrich the other stakeholders (employees, share holders, customers). If any of those 3 dont get what they need from the business....

But why isnt there any liberally ideological people who open and grow a business into any kind of scale?

"and if Victoria secret can make products and take money from “plus sized” women then they can model"
This statement is completely meaningless. It's a company, they can hire whomever they want. On a related note, have you ever wonder why you NEVER see any SJWs running or owning companies larger than a trendy coffee shop ? Seriously, think about that for a second....

If the USA hadn't both materialized and stepped in, there's a pretty good chance that these three flags would be the only ones left on the planet.

The reality is that with 7.5B people on the planet, there is absolutely zero chance there will ever be anything remotely resembling a consensus on values. That's why families and cultures and countries and communities and tribes are all a thing. Find the people who you can trust, and go spend your life with them. Stay within the hard societal and lawful curbs of whatever country you're in. If you don't like your country's curbs, do whatever you have to do to get to a place where you're curbs are in alignment with where you live. But go live your life! Quit worrying so god damned much about what everyone else thinks or feels! Political correctness and offensiveness are garbage, they tear apart healthy and much needed communication. Go talk to people. Risk offending them! Risk being offended! But never forget that the entirety of what you know is almost nothing compared to what's available in the world to learn. So keep your mind open! Listen to learn, not to respond. Enjoy life.

"Baby it's cold outside" is being taken off playlists across the country because it can be interpreted in a negative light. But a simple cartoon that's offensive to the majority of the world is supposed to somehow be evidence that religion is both fake and harmfull?
.
Ah, the hypocrisy is heavy these days.

I disagree with some of what he says too. I'm just not interested in a vague emotional baseless discussion to see who can cast him in the best or worst image.

Thank you too. You're absolutely right that people see what they wanna see. We grab ahold of the things that support our current beliefs while loads of evidence that challenge our beliefs can slide right by unnoticed.
.
How can you be so sure that's not happening to you?
.
To be honest your claim that he's terrified, strangely aroused, and a totalitarian sure have an ironic bend of school room name calling for someone so concerned with the integrity of rational discourse. To be fair, I do agree that he speaks with strong conviction on his beliefs, almost as if they were absolute when in reality there are opposing theories an no proof on either side. But at the same time there is very little in psychology or human nature that is absolute. So anyone who speaks with conviction on the subject is in the same boat regardless of their core beliefs.
.
In the interest of getting to the reality of Petersons views i would love to have a discussion about the specifics of his views.

Can I ask how much of Dr. Peterson's lectures or literature you've listened too or read? I have done quite a bit of both. Although he's conservative, he certainly isnt 'far right'. I also know, because he has stated it multiple times, that he believes conservatives and liberals need each other and that he views neither as superior. He beef is with the far left, marxist, and post modernists. I read what you wrote and I get the feeling that you're tossing him all the way into the alt-right bucket and therefore dismissing him entirely. My concern is that your dismissal may have passed up on an opportunity to listen to a very articulate representative of the "other side".
.
Could you do me a favor and either read or listen to this "Democrats apology" that he wished they would have said. It really brings home what a LOT of us on the conservative side have trouble articulating about our objection to the Democratic party.

I found a better clip of Dr Peterson describing the "forced menogomy" concept that was taken out of context in that NYT article. And it doesnt have any of the garbage that my first linked video has.

@pripyatplatypus, you found one of many negative articles about Peterson. The author of that NYT article, Nellie Bowles, was with Peterson for two days before she wrote it. We should all know by now that just about every major media source has become political biased and the NYT is certainly not an exception.
.
If you spend two days with anyone you can easily gather enough quotes to be able to arrange them out of context in a way that doesn't represent reality. That's what happened in this article. Here's an interview with Peterson where they discuss the article if you'd like to hear it right from the horses mouth.
