You seem to have a lot of rage and violence in you. While I agree respect should be mutual, them not speaking "improper" English is no reason to insult them and get physical with the manager. I understand you may have a recent bad experience but this type of reaction is unhealthy for everyone.

It's a good thing the child finally calmed down, because no parent should have to choose between teir child and their education, but every student can expect to be able to listen to the teacher without baby screams in their ears for 4 hours a day. The best thing would be to build a little daycare at the university (actually, an architect from the 30's tried to implement that in his buildings and it did work).

That's why I did my best acting like I didn't understand them. Problem is, I started when I was 7 and never knew when to stop. I'm 22 and still do it because now it would be even more awkward.

The calm protesters vs the angry, witch-fingered cops is caricatural af but other than that I love the art. Just pointing this out because I think it doesn't give justice to them. They're angry, and rightfully so.

Here in France the tuition is low, a few hundred €, plus a few additional costs (some teachers want you to buy books, you have to drive to wherever for a special class, somtimes buy theater tickets....) Still, as lemmingoverlord said, some get student loans to afford living without getting a full-time job. And there is also a social help, depending on how much money your parents make, how far away from your hometown you're studying and wether or not you have bros/sis who are also students, you can get a bit of money, going from refund of the tuition to a few hundreds a month. This way everyone has access to education.
The help doesn't apply to private schools though (typically, studying marketing costs an arm and a leg, and you can only get your parent's money and/or a loan).
And if you think that's cool come quick, because lately they've been pondering the idea of upping the costs for foreigner students (there were protests though).

I'm also glad my cat ekekkeks at flies and spiders and not birds, she doesn't harm any wild animal.
And they forgot one thing : when they come and press their tiny little heads against your hand and rub against it until you get the hint and pet them. This maneuver is adorable as heck.

Sometimes I'm like "how do you say that in English???" and then it dawns on me that it's the same as in French, like "table" or "quinoa". Feels like bullshitting with extra stupid steps.
