I usually love dark humor but try to remember that each and every number in these statistics represents a human being who died horribly, most likely cold, starving, and terrified. For a really long time I thought I was the only person who ever did this. I was young and my parents tucked me in and night and I often did this because I was just felt so warm and safe and comfortable. For some reason, none of my family members do this, just me, and I was too young to have sleepovers so I didn't know if my friends did it either. I thought I was just some weird human-cricket hybrid and I would eventually start turning green and get the ability to jump really high. Sadly, this never happened, but I did eventually meet my best friend who said she does the same thing so I no longer feel so weird and alone.
