I want to like this because I'm entertained, but I don't want to appear to be supporting the jif lunatics. What a dilemma

Sticking with Symbian in the face of iOS and Android was their mistake. They didn't move forward when it was time.

Jesus. She never developed cognitively either, she just.. never grew up. I didn't even know this was a thing that could happen.

I've read Hemingway, yes, and I have nothing but respect/admiration/mad jealousy for his use of language. I gather he was a pretty unpleasant human being, but as an artisan of wordcraft I think few can match him.

Yeah... I'm surprised. I think some people are far more persuasive than others, precisely because of their ability to express themselves well. MLK was known as a brilliant orator because he could paint the most elevating ideas in speech like music - fame has nothing to do with it. With respect, I think you're underestimating the power of language.

! Tell that to Hemingway. Or MLK. Or any songwriter worth their salt, there's absolutely skill in communicating well.

Psssht. Everyone makes mistakes and besides, there are so many variations and dialects that any standard is to some degree arbitrary. And besides, language evolves with culture and besides *that*, it's boring when everyone is the same. There's so much flavour out there, why limit ourselves?

They're still working on a pill and one day there'll be one available, I reckon. But imagine literally bring able to switch your potency on and off like that, to every partner's immediate satisfaction. It would be amazing. Frankly I'd be happy to have my vas deferens rerouted outside my scrotum, with a plug in the line that I could either connect or disconnect as appropriate.

It's a great idea but it's 3 months between when you flick the switch and when you can be sure that the sperm will be absent from the seminal fluid. I reckon the success of any contraceptive like this is limited until you can literally activate it, ejaculate risk-free, then deactivate it and know that you're fertile again immediately.
There are other issues - you need one for each testicle; they're a sizeable permanent intrusion into a delicate area of the body; they're fucking expensive. Still, what a great step forward.

Most of the ones that people chuck out are unserviceable because they're old and the market for them has shrunk so dramatically. It might have been worth $8000 when it was new (probably in the 60s), but if it had anything like that value now, it wouldn't be sitting on the curb like garbage.

But only half true. There was plenty of dystopian sci-fi being written in the past, look at Phillip K Dick and the stuff coming out in the cold war era.

This is great. I'd love it if the internet actually started pasting men's nipples over women's, thus downgrading an R to a PG. It'd be a great protest.

Does that apply equally to white pride? Straight pride? How about the pride of those born into wealth?
