Most Chinese people are self-centered usually goes by a "It's your problem so don't drag me into it" scenario. The reason for this is that when a good person tries to help someone in China, that someone takes advantage of their kindness and threatens them to give them money to compensate the expenses for their hospital bill on the account that the good person tried to harm the "victim" or he will be sent to prison and the good person can't do anything about it cause he doesn't have evidence that shows his innocence while the victim's words are more inclined to be believed by the police, especially if there are no other witnesses to vouch for the good guy. Such cases are rampant in China, making Chinese people self-centered.
