A man was actually arrested here for "misgendering" his minor daughter -- and for violating the judge's order saying the man could not discuss the issue with media outlets.

*to clarify I'm not saying what happened on residential schools wasn't by and large a travesty, and no parent should have to have their child disappear, die, and be buried on one of those schools.

But pretending we didn't know it happened before is a disgrace. They also, at least back when they first started reporting on it (no idea now) had not verified what the contents of the mass graves even were to my knowledge.

In at least one case they just knew it was bones by and large. They didn't verify if it was human, child, or even native. Nor could they verify an exact quantity iirc. Because they didn't actually dig any of it up before they started reporting on it.

We almost had a race war before covid because people were screaming about protecting the environment - but the natives apparently only cared about the environment if the people in general were making money. If they could be the ones making the money they were fine "destroying" the environment

Then we pretty much did have a race war because they discovered that native children died on residential schools in the past, and this was apparently a big surprise to people who needed something to be enraged about.

This resulted in many people (including our dear PM iirc) saying Canada day should be cancelled because celebrating it is equal to celebrating the death of children.*

It also resulted in a bunch of Christian churches being burned to the ground, but the media don't talk about that so much. Probably because the people running the churches are still alive, the wrong skin color, and clearly deserve what they get

I feel like that's misleading. Our *fearless leader spent 900 million dollars of taxpayer money forcing an early election and nothing changed except he now has to have rocks removed from his hair on occasion
