And just a side note - "Why do you spend so much at the store?" It is called "kids." When they give you the estimate about how much kids cost and then you have a baby, you are all, "What? They barely eat anything, they don't cost much, even diapers are not that bad. I'll figure out college later (which btw happens a lot faster than you expect)." Then junior high happens and you are freaking spending almost $300 at the grocery store and you have a 6 foot beast staring down at you telling you that there is nothing to eat in the house. Good God, can you just eat the dollars straight up?

It is like the couponing shows. I get a balance of $256.44 at the store, give over my coupons (trying to be a super-couponer, thinking I am doing amazing). Clerk: "Ok, $255.49" - ugh.

Very sweet. And the fact is, if she found out, she may feel that way too. That is some true love right there. I was joking with my husband once about becoming a prostitute (totally joking obviously and I don't remember the premise) and he said, "I'll be the only one buying!" He meant it to be sweet and loving, but it came out pretty insulting. He tried to rephrase a few time - still a running joke between us.

Still shop this way and I am a non-student. Unfortunately, sometimes when you go low to high, you get a bunch of cheap garbage that is not totally related to your search so you still have to page through.

Instead of spending all that time in the sun, you can just lightly roast your arms and face over an open flame for a few minutes to get that deep, dark glow. <Please don't do this, just what I thought of when I saw this meme>

A firefly got into my house the other night and I jarred him and brought him outside thinking that I was doing a nice thing. When he got out of the jar, he dumped his body backward and landed on our deck face up in the rain (there was a huge rainstorm). I was like, forget you dude, you are not even trying.

When I was an undergrad living in Chicago, there was an ad for a receptionist in the Reader. I called the number and the guy on the phone said this was for the Church of Scientology, asked me if I knew anything about it and talked about the classes they offer (and he had a super creepy voice on the phone), then scheduled me for an interview. When I got off the phone, I was super anxious because he sounded so creepy. I called my mom and she said to cancel. Because I had already given my info and was trying to be accountable, I called back and told him that I wanted to cancel - said I had already gotten something set up somewhere else - he said, and I quote, "(My name), I know what happened, you got off the phone with me, called your mom and she told you not to interview with the Church of Scientology." I hung up on him and could not sleep that night.

I should probably be a paid PI because I have found that I have some mad (ie. crazy) internet investigating (ie. stalking) skills.

This happened to my sister-in-law a month ago. The paint from the license plate imprinted the license plate number on her car. There was also an oil leak from her car to the other person's garage a few blocks away (her car had been parked at the time). The hit-and-runner was definitely not getting away with it, but she did get time to sober up.

Not to be lame, but this is a great site. People are always supporting each other and giving thumbs up for replies (or apologizing if they thought they offended someone). That is cool. Sometimes things like that make all the difference.

And just one more point - if the people around you do seem to not care, there are plenty o' fish in the sea (as they say with significant others). There are people who either do or will care and you need to start to find/surround yourself with those people.

I agree - you cannot tell anyone it will be ok because you don't know that it will be ok. I have personally known (friend or relative) five people to commit suicide. One was a young relative who would have taken it back for sure because she had taken LSD and freaked out. The biggest thing to know, from my experience with the other 4, is that they all thought that we all would be better off without them here. That is not true. Suicide is something you cannot take back and the hearts of those you left behind are forever broken. You may feel like you are not important, but you need that perspective. Here's my advice if you are feeling that way - call the free suicide hotline or the text line and start to talk about it asap. Get a good therapist. Start writing. If you have an addiction problem (which accounts for the other 4), get help asap. Tell people that you are getting help and you are trying to get better. Make the hard decisions and stick with them.

Growing a tomatoe 6 comments

Well, you can start to grow them and buy them while you are waiting. BUT, when they grow (we have 5 plants that we got for free, but then there is the dirt and planters that you have to buy) you have many tomatoes at one time. They definitely taste better than the store bought ones!

My sister (who has always been obsessed with low-carb eating) ate a BAG of shrimp before our first hot yoga class (she blames me for not telling her NOT to eat, but who the heck eats a bag of shrimp ever?), then laid on the floor moaning through the whole class. She couldn't move because she was going to barf up the shrimp in the 110 degree room. It was pretty funny. Just thought I would add that as an example of how yoga can help your depression.

The ones in Mexico are super cute and small. The ones in the Chicagoland area are huge evil beasts! One popped out of my garbage can like a psycho as I was walking by at night. He hissed at me and was the size of a medium sized dog. Big, fat, mean trash pandas here!
