What's up?

So, here's the story
I moved away from home for five years. Had a good male friend in 3rd and 4th grade, before I left. Now, 7ish years later, (I moved back to my old house and everything 2yrs ago) he's just reconnected with me. I've missed him, but I've definitely changed and (vaguely) said im pretty different a person now
We haven't met up but have been emailing a lot so far. He's asked me to spring fling (as friends), and I've said yes, as he's not got many friends and I can't say no to him
Problem is, he knows me as female.
For the last two years, I've identified as male. I have not told him this yet.
I know people at his school, where the dance will be. Some of them know me as male now. Some remember me as female.
Any advice on whether I should wear a dress or a suit? I want to wear a suit but this is all really complicated and I don't want to make this weird for him and people i know etc
Advice/thoughts? I don't really have anyone else to ask so I thought I'd just ask here

I've not come out to everyone in my life so it's a generally complicated mess. My parents arent supportive but my few friends are, and most of my teachers etc, too. I've not come out to certain people for a few reasons, and especially not my friend yet cause i dont know how he'll react when i tell him
So it's kind of a mess heh (; ^_^)

I think you should wear what makes you comfortable. I don't know anyone trans IRL but in my personal opinion, if he is still as good a friend as you describe him, he won't mind about your change. if he does, and he makes it an issue, then end the friendship. trust me, a true friend won't care about that sort of thing.
