I've always known there was a Martian movie. I started watching it but i never finished it.
I just never knew there was a 1984 movie. It doesn't really seem like it would exist.

I kinda don't get these references because I haven't started reading it yet but I'm liking what I'm seeing

1984 is controlled by a single power known as Big Brother. The goal of the government is to make the people stupid so they can't think for themselves. They are deleting words from existence in a new language called Newspeak. So the word "great" is double good, "awesome" and "fantastic" are double plus good.
This isn't a spoiler because it's described on the first chapter.

I love 1984! It's so well thought out, honestly, and it's kind of dense with the symbols. It's amazing how all the people are manipulated by the things that make us human, such as family, language, sexuality/making love and technology. It's such a great read.

I know what 1984 is basically about but I never actually read it. I don't know how it ends.

Holy shit we talking about the ending? That made me sit and think on it for a while like damn. 1984 is one if the few books that really messed with me, but I love it so much and rose hadn't read it so I can't really talk about it

I haven't seen 1984, but I've read the book, and it's one of my favorites. The Martian was great too, I definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. But if you haven't read 1984, you should. It's a classic distopian and it's very interesting.
