Their society should most likely be like how harry potter books magic world had magic all around but people carried on like they were normal people with out magic. Unless the technology ones are the bad guys than you should give it a twist like they done away with human emotional items like family and kids are just added to the hive like replacement parts for the old when they are needed.

What if society was incredibly AR based? So to an outsider not form the society, everything would appear very bare bones and undecorated, but once you have access to the AR net everything pops to life, and is more colorful than it was. Walls that were once empty have advertisements and posters all over them, newscreens pop up out of thin air, and directions to locations like restuarants appear as a line on the ground. On another topic, you could make the power sources be convential sci fi stuff, but with a twist, like they draw in power from an alternate realm where it is nothing but pure electricity, or use magic to generate energy for short burst of power, to charge a phone or whatever knick knack they have available.

Or maybe their technology is biomechanical so that it looks organix but is actually mechanical

**organic

I'm thinkin that it's the sort where biomechanics has reached a new level, power sources are much more complicated, schools teach robotics as a compulsory subject, and they're looking into bending the laws of physics.

I mean, I'm writing about how they're using the gravitational force resulting from the density of an atom's nucleus as a power source.

You guys focused on the fantasy aspect of it. It's not really what I was going for. Anyway, I looked it up and she's gonna have "work clothes" made of graphemes and Aerogel. Search it up

That reminds me of the time I tried to make a story titled "Dragon Alien Robots"

It didn't past one sentence, thankfully.

If you're looking for a power source based on bending the laws of physics, might I suggest perpetual motion machines? In addition to what you already have, of course.
creativedragonbaby · 6 years ago
I'll look into it
creativedragonbaby · 6 years ago
Aaaand this is what I found.
Perpetual motion is motion of bodies that continues indefinitely. A perpetual motion machine is a hypothetical machine that can do work indefinitely without an energy source. This kind of machine is impossible, as it would violate the first or second law of thermodynamics.

Correct, but I figured you might want to use it if you're already bending the laws of physics.

Hmmm... sure. Though I am trying to make it as realistic as possible, with crazy tech that does crazy things. I'll consider it and see how it fits into my story. It's a bit big though, isn't it? Can't exactly fit one into your phone or pocket?

Definitely not. I was thinking along the lines of wind-farm-esque, but with reality-bending machines. And feel free to use it as you see fit, or not. It's your story, after all.

Yeah, this has got me thinking a bit. Also, the questions I asked everyone that got answers I wasn't satisfied with helped me come up with new questions, like "What does a society need to function"
