the book was nonfiction, and the books/movies were real stories and tales based on a real person who did real misfortunes and organized the deaths of real people.

you can like the art and dislike the artist, same as liking the artist and disliking the art.
he still existed, and millions of stories, be them published or real accounts told at nursing homes, exist around the world. saying that they are fictional because Hitler was “fictional” is an insult to those stories and their tellers IMHO.
