Are we pretending most content isn't original just so we have a tool to be petty to each other?
bluejam · 6 years ago
I think it's to prevent people from advertising but also to allow crediting authors.

Also, I just made 2 comments after being unable to comment due to my content "not doing well", and a minute later I can't comment again because, I can ONLY assume, my "content" (those two comments) haven't been doing well. You know, in the entire last minute of existing. I swear, it's things like this that suck the FUN out of funsubstance.

Maybe it's your post. Happened to me before

Sorry. Doesn't answer my question.

Watermarks are promotional, they advertise other filthy meme sites such as I F U N N Y or 9 G A G, stating the source of the meme is beneficial to the artist to created the meme.
Think of it as why museums state the artist's name, but doesn't allow another museum's logo to be printed on it

As for the comments, funsubstance has a limit of 60ish(?) Comments per day. I never reached that limit, but users like @rosalinas and @spookykink57 has in the past. Maybe the "content" that wasn't doing well was your posts?
rosalinas · 6 years ago
80 comments per day
And yes, it has happened with me before

Sources are for like artists names or links to buy stuff if it's ever about random objects
matthewg · 6 years ago
Ok, maybe it's not just obvious, but I haven't noticed anyone giving sources for their posts. Which brings me back to wondering if we're pretending that we're not just stealing content from sites like those mentioned above.
I used to hit my 80 comment limit all the time, so I know what that looks like. These days I'm rarely on FS, but I've noticed a few times that if my POSTS don't do well, FS suspends me from not only posting, but commenting, as well. Seems a bit f@cked up, to me.

I noticed @Celticrose citing sources before. Once it was for that comic, in which there is a girl and she is from water. Her is a fish or something. It was a nice comic.

I try citing artist whenever I can track them down. But I think the watermark rule is linked to the no advertising rule, so its including other websites. I've noticed they don't flag when it's an artists watermark, only a site.

*Her mother is a fish. Sorry.
bluejam · 6 years ago
I've seen some posts that cite the author. Usually for those art types.

Often times we don’t even know the artist is
