You do?
sir_loin · 6 years ago
Yeah. Currently, mostly under control, but it got very bad at one point

I've got it too! Do you get those open sores in *those* areas?
sir_loin · 6 years ago
Worst on my scalp, some on armpits. So far none south of the belt
pbachman21 · 6 years ago
Wait, you get them on the scalp? I thought it only happens in places where skin rubs and sweats
sir_loin · 6 years ago
Back of the head, where the skin flexes. Also, as I have very oily skin, using a pillow makes it worse.

Oh geez, well I get mine under my arm and in the private area, but I've found a home remedy that works so well for me!
So, just about all of us with HS get those annoying, painful, open sores .But I've got a cream that I make that works so well for me! You can even apply it in a public bathroom if you have a flare-up there. So it's an equal parts mixture of Neosporin, Manuka Honey, and clinadamycin phosphate topical lotion (given to me by my doctor). You can make a little container full and keep it with you when you go out, or you can make it right in your bathroom, just enough for the spot. Once applied you can either put a bandaid over it or if you don't have a bandaid with you, make a little square out of toilet paper and put it on. Normally my spots stay there for like 2 maybe 3 weeks of just pain. With this it was gone in two days! It honestly helps so much and I hope you all try it!

I copied and pasted it from when I told an online support group for HS so that's why it sounds like I'm typing for a group of people

I have that lotion, and now that I found that cottonseed oil (common food ingredient) is a trigger, I'm mostly ok, maybe if it gets bad I'll try your suggestion. Good luck
