Technically the opposite of any colour is transparent

The opposite of grey is grey. Since grey is made from decreasing the saturation of a color, the opposite would just be a grey made from decreasing the saturation of the opposite color (i.e. the opposite of a red-made grey is a green-made grey).

About brown?

The opposite of brown is probably light blue

Depends on the shade of gray. Convert the shade into a black and white meter or whatever and it should give you a black value between 0 and 255. Take that number, do 255-[that number], and you'll have the opposite shade.
