Why would you need to eat six cats for Latin?

It’s complicated lol

Do you need to separate the subject from a transitive verb? I don't know the answer to this, sorry, but I'm curious, and if you have time I'll be happy to research it with you.

So it looks like there is a lot of disagreement about "correct" word order in Latin, and God only knows what school your teacher belongs to, but for a relatively simple sentence like this, I think you'll need to go with "It six cats ate." How you conjugate the verb etc I gave no idea, sorry! Can you tell me?

Six feles manducabat is what I’d say, though from what I remember word order doesn’t matter all that much

Mfw I took Latin for four years and I have no idea of how to construct that sentence.
It’s a miracle I passed

Couple things: you need noun- adjective agreement. Sex and feles need to be both receiving action and plural. Think about which declension receives action, and decline accordingly. Also manducabat would be "he/she/it was chewing". You'll want to use the edo/edere verb. If you're explaining what was already happening, conjugate edere in the imperfect tense. If the eating of the cats interrupts what's already happening, then conjugate it in the perfect tense.
