I've been making up stories since grade 5, but since grade 11 is when I really tried to make it serious again

I think this is either my 5th or 6th storyline lol

Also yoooooo I just had a massive brainwave of ideas for more gods and shit

I have a pretty decent memory, so I can remember imaginary friends, old games, and silly characters I've made up, with the earliest dating back to grade 2, maybe earlier

Yo I just came up with ideas for the earth god and champion, alongside the ice god.
Earth god is a mountain, like I said earlier, while the Earth Champion is a large mountain goat who protects the mountain.
Meanwhile the ice god will be based on a wandering traveller, with a large woolly parka and shit, lives on top of a different mountain where a ski resort used to be, now abandoned and destroyed due to a permanent blizzard that the god has left there

How does it sound? Now I kind of want to move the forest champion to the ice God, since a wandering traveler would typically keep a pet dog/Wolf on him

I was thinking that the gods supporting humans would not directly oppose other gods, but instead help the humans, by directing them to the other champions, or having their champions help people. Also, what if instead of just an animal for champions, it was a human, with an animal companion of sorts? Just a thought of course. The human and animal would be unkillable by normal means, like stabbing them would do nothing. Champions could kill other champions though, or a human with magically imbued artifacts.

If you want the plot to be complex...try this...gods wanted the champions to live peacefully and in harmony with each other and those champs were perfect beings...but there was a mistake..evolution...and some years beings very similar to humans,evolves. Now they were not so perfect(some bad..some corrupt..just like us) but they were getting more intelligent and smarter every generation which dreaded the champions they thought humans would revolt(they had immense population) so the champions(some bad ones like maybe darkness) started making slaves and manipulate the other champs by spoiling them(like i said in the comment earlier)and only one stays with humans(maybe light)
And then again war for freedom and domination(the awesome thing is that these champs can have awesome powers and minions like the one with the earth has soilders made of sand..etc)

That is a really interesting idea, but I want the gods to have more interactivity with the humans during the war than just the champions themselves.

Mind's champion being a sphinx?

Oooooo that could be interesting. And the mind God could be based on an Egyptian or Greek God?

Wind's champion being a harpy, a la the ones with wings and no arms? Earth's God being an Ooze/Slime? Darkness's champion being a Nightmare, Energy's God a will'o the wisp?

Those are all interesting ideas!

What if the gods themselves do not have a form we can see, and usually show themselves in some form or variation of their element?

Idk, I prefer having the gods be visible so I can come up with more creative designs for them

I just meant that their godly forms would inhabit specific things, but not necessarily stay in one body. They might have multiple ways of manifesting themselves.
