I was sitting in front of the TV putting my shoes on getting ready for school. Saw the 1st tower smoking and a few minutes later a plane flew into the 2nd tower.

I was at work in a 911 center working a police radio. We had the televisions on and of all the terrible and depressing things that happen daily it was one of the most somber and helpless feeling days there ever was.

I told my mom before school that I saw on the news that a plane at hit a building in New York. When I got to school, my teacher wheeled in a TV and we watched it all day. I distinctly remember going to Taco Bell after school and the whole thing seemed like a blur.

Was in the car with my mom on my way to school when the news came over the radio. Spent all day in school watching the news on TVs in the classrooms.

Probably sleeping, because I was 11 days old.

English, 11th grade. I remember the principle coming over the loudspeaker about 2 minutes after the tardy bell rang and informing teachers they could now tell students what was happening. We watched the second plane hit in confusion, thinking they were replaying the first. And my teacher almost hit an asshole student who was making jokes about children's body parts in the streets after the Oklahoma City bombing. It seemed unreal at first. They had TVs positioned all over the school, in hallways and the cafeteria, showing news coverage. The rest of the day was basically just watching the news, waiting. Only one teacher was obtuse enough to try and have an actual class, abd when she told everyone to just ignire what was happening elsewhere and focus on our Worksheets most of us just walked out to find coverage elsewhere. I lived in Houston at the time and there was alot of unsubstantiated reports of at least 1 more plane "missing" and there was a lot of speculation that Houston could

Be a target, given it's size, its prominence as a major port city, and its ties to George Bush. We had a lot of students who had parents either in the active military or in the reserves, and we knew what it would mean.

I was about 5 I think, I don't remember it because my parents wouldn't have told me as I would've been playing with my siblings or in some dirt. I talked about this with my parents only a few days ago actually cause we were watching a documentary about the Concorde. My Mum was at home looking after me and my siblings and she thought it wasn't real until she saw the news that night, my Dad was in a meeting with his boss and they all stopped because it was on TV and didn't really know how to react other than shock.

I was watching Playhouse Disney with my 18 month old and 5 year old. At a commercial break I had the feeling that I should check the news. I switched channels and saw the first tower smoking. I remember thinking about all those people trapped or killed. My eyes started to tear up and I could hear a buzzing in my ears. As the first tears spilled from my eyes the second plane came in, and the buzzing in my ears turned into a roar as I heard my husband in utter shock and disbelief say, “ We’re at war.”
I cried all day watching the news coverage.
For the three days that followed with all air traffic grounded it was so quiet outside. We live on a flight pattern from CVG airport. It was so still and bizarre to not hear any planes.
I followed the coverage for almost a week before I had to turn it off and stop crying.
The local radio station started playing Live’s Lightning Crashes with news clips dubbed in, and to this day, I can not listen to that song without my heart breaking.
