I'm not really sure what you mean by 'benefits' but I'd say the site itself is allowed to do whatever it deems best or necessary as most sites are treated like a business. In some businesses workers gotta be kicked to increase efficiency or general costs but most of the time this caters towards the users as they are the "customers" of the site and if they are happy than the site's value increases. So both I guess.

@parisqeen I meant by benefits---> interests. But you made a good point, if the site won't get benefited from its users as buying and selling sites, then no need in satisfying them.
